Basic Fatigue Management TLIF0005
Operators with Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) accreditation can operate under more flexible work and rest hours, allowing for (among other things) work of up to 14 hours in a 24-hour period*. BFM gives operators a greater say in when drivers can work and rest, as long as the risks of driver fatigue are properly managed.
From 1st July 2018, heavy vehicle operators wishing to apply for accreditation under the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) fatigue management modules will need their drivers, schedulers, and supervisors or managers of drivers or schedulers, to complete the new fatigue units of competency through an NHVR approved Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).
Shift Training P/L has been approved by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) to deliver the new fatigue management unit of competency:
- TLIF0005 - Apply a fatigue risk management system - This course is 100% online - work at your own pace.
Entry Requirements
- A current Australian Drivers Licence
- Level 3 language, literacy and numeracy skills - enough to get by!
- You must complete this training on a desktop computer - not a mobile device.

our face to face option. Shift is dedicated to helping you complete and has student support services available if required.

This new courses are now available through face to face delivery - 1 day.
Those who achieved competency in TLIF2010 AND applied for or were approved for accreditation under the NHVAS prior to 01 July 2018 will not be required to complete the new units, previous competencies will continue to be recognised for fatigue accreditation under NHVAS.

Support and Mentoring Services
We are committed to helping you achieve your study goals and we don't leave you alone when you finish your study – all students will have access to the trainers throughout the program and after completion of the course as a contact point for any technical or process support in developing competencies.
Each student will be screened in terms of their literacy and numeracy levels coming into the program and will be supported in those areas according to their individual needs. If you feel that you may require additional support, please let us know whne booking. Where we cannot provide sufficient support, students will be referred to a suitable TAFE program to develop their reading and writing skills.
Unique Student Identifier
Every year, an estimated three million Australians build and sharpen their skills by undertaking nationally recognised training. From 1 January 2015, all students doing nationally recognised training need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
